I. Open covenants of peace, openly arrived at, after which there shall be no private international understandings of any kind but diplomacy shall proceed always frankly and in the public view.
I think this is still around today. Every country pretty much knows everything going on in other countries. They about their nuclear powers and it's clear who gets along and who doesn't. Nothing is really secret between any country anymore.
IV. Adequate guarantees given and taken that national armaments will be reduced to the lowest point consistent with domestic safety.
This point is deffinately not in use anymore. All countries have as many weapons and as much protection as they can. War seems to be able to occur at any time now adays so everyone always needs to be ready at anytime.
V. A free, open-minded, and absolutely impartial adjustment of all colonial claims, based upon a strict observance of the principle that in determining all such questions of sovereignty the interests of the populations concerned must have equal weight with the equitable claims of the government whose title is to be determined
This point is trying to be used still but I don't think it will ever be completely true or used. The governments will always say that they are doing things for the interest of the people but thats not always true. I don't think it will ever be true either.
XIV. A general association of nations must be formed under specific covenants for the purpose of affording mutual guarantees of political independence and territorial integrity to great and small states alike.
This point is still used today. We used this when 9/11 happened. Countries aided us to fight in the war against terrorism which gave us allies. This is also the most useful point and probably the most effective.
This point would most likely be the one that could prevent war because it creates allies. If a country is about to go to war with another country and one of the countries becomes allies with a very dominate country the war could be avoided.

Political Cartoon
The cartoon that I picked show Japan coming out of the League of Nations saying they don't want to go back in and it shows Uncle Sam who represents the U.S saying that we don't want to go in. The cartoon is kind of making things seem like they are tenser than what it was. In my opinion the cartoon shows the truth somewhat. America didn't really want to be involved but they wanted to have a say in what should be done.
American women during WWI
American women were doing a lot of jobs that men did before they left during WWI. They were enrolling in the military to help do jobs and some even fought along side of the men on the battle fields. Most were nurses or physical therapists though and helped the wounded soliders. The ones that stayed home took over the jobs that men did such as working in the factories, welding, things like that. They became the ones in charge of the households and had to support the families. This was the time when women really came into their own and proved to the world that they could do the same things that men could.
Armenian Genocide
They lived in the Ottoman Empire and were second class citizens. They lived in harmony with the Turks for the mos part and there was very little violent conflict between the Armenians and everybody else. This began to change as they started to endure special hardships like taxes and second class citizenship. Nationalism started to change the way things were. It made ethnic groups self-conscious which made the Ottoman Empire crumble. When WW1 occured it gave the Young Turk government the cover and reason to carry out their plan. The Armenian leaders were killed leaving them leaderless and giving the government complete control over them. The Young Turks said they had to relocate the Armenians for their own good but they were really leading them on death marches. The men that were well were drafted and then killed which left the women, children, and elderly to be systematicly murdered. I think that any type of killing is horrible. No one should want to get rid of a whole race of people because they think those people are inferior to them. It was completely wrong and not fair at all.
